Certifying a company’s quality management system is a must to demonstrate the implementation of an optimal standard of quality. Experienced auditors will offer support within the scope of certification to increase a company’s potential and to enable them to achieve their goals. Quality becomes the driving force behind the company, influencing every aspect from decision-making through process analysis and policy implementation. AS9001 is even detail-oriented and industry specific.
MSC does not offer the certification process, but there are many excellent companies that will walk you through the process and prepare you for certification.
Although we are not affiliated with them, DEKRA is a good example of one such company that offers this service.

AS9100 Certification Requirements
There are a number of requirements that must be met in order to become certified as an AS9100 lead auditor certification. Firstly, candidates must have a minimum of two years' experience working in quality management or auditing, preferably within the aerospace industry. Secondly, they must successfully complete an AS9100 lead auditor training course which covers topics such as quality management principles, auditing techniques and understanding the AS9100 standard. Finally, they must pass an examination which assesses their knowledge and understanding of the AS9100 standard. After becoming certified, lead auditors are required to keep their skills up-to-date by attending refresher courses every few years.
