Compression tube fittings typically consist of 3 components: nut, body, and ferrule (gasket ring). Some may include a ferrule built directly into the nut. They do not require flaring, soldering, or major tooling of any kind and are easily installed. All that is needed is for the user to insert the tubing into the fitting and tighten the nut. The nut and ferrule provide the tight seal required. The benefit to using this type of tubing is that there are no special tubing preparations required allowing for less repair time and ultimately less maintenance costs.
