Hi everybody, Jeff from Streamlight. Today we’re going to do a quick video on work lights and I’m going to grab a couple applications around the house where I think I can show you where you might use one work light over another. So for this example, I have the service panel off this furnace and I want to demonstrate how I would use the Streamlight FlipMate work light to illuminate this project. I like the FlipMate a lot, it’s been my go-to light recently. It’s got a really great magnetic footprint so I can adhere to things and I just get a ton of light from this work light. You get a couple color temperatures to choose from. I’m using the warm light here, makes it easier to see colors and wiring. With two hours of runtime on high I’ve got lots of time to work on my project and really it gives me tons of light in a wide open area. Where there’s no space restrictions, this is my go-to light.
Some projects require you to get into tighter spaces, like the inside of this pinball machine. For this example I’m going to use the Streamlight Syclone to actually go inside the project and illuminate from the inside. I’m going to use the hand hook to suspend from this little latch and now you can see my light is up and off to the side and I can see all the way inside this machine without the light in my way. Four hundred lumens of output with this little work light in a compact package so if you need to get inside of an application or inside of a machine, this really gives you a lot more flexibility.
For some jobs form factor is key. The Strion Switchblade® has a thin light bar that allows us to do inspections in tight places. For example, on this motor I can illuminate the joint by the base of the cylinder in the crankcase looking for oil leaks, or I can get in close to these fuel lines in this wiring looking for additional leaks and for frayed wiring, or I can look at the suspension component froma different angle. Again, the form factor this light allows us to do inspections that ordinarily we wouldn’t be able to do with a regular flashlight or a different type of work light. It’s a really handy tool to have around the shop. Thanks for watching. I hope this was a useful video for you.
