Hi I'm Jim Darocha, product manager at Saint-Gobain, and today I'm here to introduce the new 4 ½″ Norton Vortex RapidPrep surface conditioning flap disc. The Vortex material incorporates our high-performing patented grain which provides the cutting power of a coarser grit with the finish of fine grits which means you can remove more material and polish to a finer finish in less steps, saving a lot of time.
It also contains our Clean Bond™ Resin Technology to produce a smear-free finish even on high-nickel content alloys and reduces loading on aluminum and other soft metals. Vortex flat discs are available in the spectrum of grits from coarse to very fine and can be used in blending and light stock removal applications all the way to final finishing.
So where do Vortex RapidPrep flap discs shine and fit within our existing offering? First, on multi-step finishing applications, Vortex RapidPrep can assist to consolidate grit steps and reduce processing time. Check out our included surface finishing guide to identify the best grit to recommend. Second, the Vortex and clean bond technology provides over three times the life compared to competitive surface conditioning products.
