Guhring's Pionex form taps are the new generation threading tools. Their exceptional performance is a result of their superior lubricating groove, polygon form, and surface finish.
Guhring has geometrically modified the lobes of these form taps to improve the contact between the tool and operating area. This reduces the temperature as well as the torque and the axial force by up to 30%, while also dramatically increasing the tool life.
Pionex form taps are manufactured from a powder metallurgical steel material that provides a high wear resistance. A special surface treatment in combination with Guhring's notable TiCN-coating also ensures a longer tool life. With form tapping, the surface finish of the tool is significantly important, as it is a cold forming process. Thanks to a new polishing process, the surface of Pionex taps could be homogenized and made even smoother. These enhancements reflect a longer tool life and improved surface finish quality.
