I'm Mike product application specialist here at Fluke. And today we're going to take a look at some of our most popular digital multimeters for both DIY enthusiasts and professional electricians. Fluke 107, 15B+, 17B+, 110, and 115 digital multimeters.
Each of these meters has its own unique features and capabilities. So let's take a look. These meters share some common features like the safety, reliability, and durability that are at the core of every Fluke product. They are all CAT III 600 V rated and measure AC and DC voltage, DC millivolts, resistance, capacitance, continuity, and diode testing. Which one to choose really depends on your particular application.
The Fluke 15B+. It's a compact entry level multimeter with a max measurement voltage of up to 1000 volts. In addition to the core measurement features we just mentioned, the 15B+ also allows you to measure AC and DC current up to 10 amps. AC and DC milliamps and AC and DC micro amps. Couple that with a large backlit display and an easy to use interface, the 15B+ is great for a wide range of electrical tasks from checking voltage at an outlet or switch, checking the continuity or resistance of a wire or troubleshooting circuits.
The Fluke 17B+. This model shares the same form factor as the 15B+ but adds even more capabilities. In addition to the features of the 15B+, the 17B+ can also measure frequency, temperature with an included type K thermocouple and relative measurements which allow you to zero out a source reading so you can easily measure changes like voltage drops or temperature fluctuations to help you identify and diagnose issues. In addition to the applications we talked about for the 15B+, like checking voltages or troubleshooting circuits, those added functions make the 17B+ ideal for troubleshooting electronics, testing electrical signals and making precise temperature measurements on things like HVAC air supplies, refrigeration systems, or heat exchanges.
Let's take a look at the Fluke 107, a compact pocket-friendly unit that is perfect for quick checks on the go. It offers the same core functionality as the 15B+, but in a much smaller form factor making it ideal for use as either a primary or even backup multimeter. It measures voltages up to 600 volt, current up to 10 amps, resistance, continuity and frequency up to 100 kHz making it good for analyzing equipment and AC motors designed to operate at a fixed frequency. If you're looking for a simple, reliable and portable multimeter for basic electrical measurements, the Fluke 107 is a great choice.
The Fluke 110 and 115 Digital Multimeters. These models represent a step up from the entry level 15B+ and 17B+. They offer the same core functionality like AC and DC voltage, DC millivolts, resistance, capacitance, continuity, and diode testing, but also offer enhanced capabilities such as True RMS readings, higher capacitance ranges, and analog bar graphs. The 110 is a great choice for an entry level True RMS multimeter that will help you make quick front line troubleshooting decisions. The 115 gives you even more capability and allows you to measure current up to 10 amps and frequency up to 50 kHz from this lineup.
