MSC Supplier Portal
Today, each task in your day-to-day business with MSC requires multiple contacts by phone, email, or meeting. Recognizing the value of your time, this current state is an inefficient way to maintain and expand our collaboration. In response to this challenge, MSC is developing a Supplier Portal to act as a hub to identify and complete tasks more easily. "Using the Supplier Portal will route the work directly from you to the teams responsible for completing it, so we can work as quickly and efficiently as possible and free up time and resources to focus on growing our business together," says Roland Gelman, Sr. Category Operations Manager.
The Supplier Portal supports:
- • Notifications in the Portal’s secure message center
- • Supplier Information maintenance like contacts and account data
- • Manage Product Information
- • Update product costs
- • Manage payment issues
- • Access the Knowledge Base, including EDI specifications, tax exempt certificates, digital asset requirements and more
- • Find important links including the Product Information Management system and the Digital Routing Guide
“This represents the first phase of development for the Supplier Portal. A robust, multi-year technology roadmap for the Portal is continuously being expanded and refined," says Laura Tollefsen, Dir, Category Operations. This summer we onboarded several Suppliers as beta participants in the Supplier Portal. The early feedback will help us optimize the solution and prioritize our roadmap. After the introductory phase, MSC will onboard additional suppliers incrementally with a goal of making the Supplier Portal solution available to all suppliers by 2023.
