Andrea: Hello and welcome to Quick Tips from MSC Industrial Supply, a show where we invite industry pros to share their expertise with us. Today we have a tip from Showa about how to properly and safely put on and remove disposable gloves. Let's check it out.
Narrator: Today, we're going to cover the proper donning and doffing of your protective gloves. Step one: Remove one glove from the package and inspect it to be sure there are no pinholes or tears. Step two: If the gloves are ambidextrous, they can be worn on either hand. If not, align the gloves' fingers and thumb with the proper hand before donning. Step three: Insert five fingers into the cuff and pull the cuff over your wrist. Step four: Check for a secure fit around the fingers and palm. The cuff should fit snugly around your wrist.
And now, the four steps of proper doffing of your disposable gloves. Step one: Grasp the outside edge of the glove near your wrist. Step two: Peel the glove away from the hand, turning it inside out. Hold it in the opposite gloved hand. Step three: Slide an ungloved finger under the rest of the remaining glove, being careful not to touch the outside of the glove. And step four: Peel the remaining glove off from the inside, creating a bag containing both gloves, then discard in the trash.
